Story
I didn't set out to become a visual communication expert — I started as a video editor at Television 18 in the early 1990s, cutting tape by hand, before moving into the gallery as an on-line switcher, calling shots live across multiple cameras.
Somewhere between the edit suite and the switching desk, editing stopped feeling like a technical task and started feeling like a way of thinking — how a cut, a sequence or a graphic changes what an audience understands, and what they feel. That instinct carried me through on-air promotions at Zee ETC and News24, into postproduction leadership, and eventually into direction.
By the time I founded Urban Sky Pictures in 2014, I wasn't just producing films anymore — I was helping organisations think visually about their own work. That's still the job today: turning dense, technical material into something a decision-maker will actually watch, understand, and act on.
